ENROLLMENT 8133 AS REGISTRATION ENDS; 7846 IN 1937

With registration officially closed in all but one or two graduate departments, 8,133 students have signed themselves into the good graces of the University, 287 more than at this time last year, when 7,846 were registered.

Late entrants in 1937 brought this figure up to 8,289, indicating that enrollment may pass the 8,600 mark this year.

Contrary to the general upward trend Harvard college enrollment has dropped from 3703 to 8640, largely because of the limit of 1000 placed on the Freshman class. Greatest gain is in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, with 880 students instead of last year's 775.

Law School Has 1400

Law, largest of the graduate schools, lists 1400, 11 more than last year; the Business School has jumped from 918 to 973. Medical School remains unchanged in size, with 511 students, as does the Dental School, with 160. The graduate School of Engineering is up from 116 to 149.

Other enrollment figures are Graduate School of Education, 155; School of Design, 95; Divinity School, 87; School of Public Health, 70; Graduate School of Public Administration, 13.
