DENTAL SCHOOL GROUP SHOWS FINE RECORD IN P. B. H. CLINIC SERVICE

The annual report of the Phillips Brooks House Association Committee reveals that the Dental School Committee, a group little known to the average undergraduate, has come through with one of the finest records of concrete achievements ever noted at P. B. H.

The busiest and most important part of the committee's program has been in connection with the maintenance of dental clinics at Burroughs Newsboys Foundation, the Boys Club of Boston, and at the Dental School.

Toothbrushes for All

Every Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout the school year 62 clinics were conducted benefiting 602 newsboys through the medium of dental examinations and prophylaxes. Each boy examined was provided with a tooth brush complete with tooth paste, and instructions as to their use.

The dental clinic proper, held at the schools, accomplished a large volume of work through the assistance of 20 volunteer graduate dental surgeons and hygienists. Nearly the whole fourth year class gave their services with the result that, after a clinic every Tuesday evening beginning in January, the following was achieved: 396 fillings; 73 extractions; 49 examinations; 49 prophylaxes, and 52 mouths completely restored.

402 members of the Boys Club of Boston were examined and here 94 teeth were extracted and 76 temporary fillings made, all of which meant the saving of a tooth. The Dental Committee was under the leadership of L. J. Donsanto 4Dn., chairman.
