150-Pound Crew Leaves For Henley Today on Aquitania

Captain Meyer's Boat Will Make Trip With Yale Lightweights

Embarking today for England where they will take part in the one-hundredth anniversary Henley Regatta, Bert Haines' 150-pound crew leaves New York today on the Aquitania, confident of victory. The Eli crew which it beat last month on the Charles will make the voyage on the same boat.

Captain Meyer's powerful eight which won over M. I. T. and Princeton boats is paying its own way. At Henley it will have to contend with a strong Kent School crew which is being presented a new shell by Lord Rothermere, British newspaperman.

On the Acquitania are Vincent R. Bailey '40, stroke; Howard M. Turner, Jr., '40, 7; Samuel M. Pierce '40, 6; Richard Fay '40, 5; George von L. Meyer, Jr., '38, 4; George C. Cutler, Jr., '40, 3; John S. Stillman '40, 2; John G. Gilkey, Jr., '39 bow; Nathan M. Plaut '39, cox. Robert Homans '40 and John H. Ijams will go along as substitutes.
