APPLICATIONS SWAMP P.B.H.

85 Requests to Be Taught by "Student Faculty" Received in Week-End

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Response to the P.B.H. sponsored "Harvard Undergraduate Faculty" plan, announced on Friday, have almost overwhelmed the staff, with applications amounting to 85 already received and still pouring in.

Fifteen letters, seven telephone calls and a telegram arrived on the following day, many due to a misunderstanding of the "Faculty's" purpose caused by inaccurate news reports. Applicants believed that the undergraduate coaching amounted to full-fledged University scholarships.

Fifty-seven applications came yesterday, 45 of them by mail, boosting the number of applications 15 over the 70 mark slated to be taught by the "Faculty" next year. Some of them wanted to enroll for such courses as air-conditioning, aeronautics and accounting.
