BAY STATE PAIR WIN LAW ELECTION

Paul Gitlin, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Wins $100 Awarded by American Society Of Composers

Donald G. Allen, of Manchester, was elected marshal of the third year class in the Law School, it was announced yesterday. Joseph Warren Jr. '28 of Brookline, was chosen class secretary by the voters.

Allen graduated from Dartmouth in 1934 and spent his next year at Oxford University. He is an editor of the Harvard Law Review. Warren, son of Joseph Warren '97, Weld Professor of Law, graduated from the Business School in 1931 but returned four years later to take up legal studies.

Brooklyn Man Wins $100

At the same time the recipient of the $100 prize given by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, one of the school's most coveted awards, was announced. The winner was Paul Gitlin 3L, of Brooklyn, New York.

The prize of the Society is in connection with the Nathan Burkan Memorial Competition. Gitlin's winning essay was entitled "Radio Infringement of Music Copyright."
