With an outfielder substituting on the mound, the Yardling ball team was edged out by the Brown Freshmen at Providence yesterday by one run in the eleventh inning which made the score 3 to 2. Regular pitcher Jack Schwede was invalided to Stillman with a bad knee in the seventh, so Pip Cutler was pressed into service from right field.
