Gordon M. Messing '38 is one of eleven men to receive various traveling fellowships for study abroad, totalling $14,650, the University announced today.

Nroman R. Cartier 3G and Robert I. Schlaifer, who is now studying in Athens, Greece, have been awarded fellowships in Romance Languages and Literature and History repetitively.

To Clinton E. Knox 2G goes the Cutting fellowship for Research in Physics, while Arthur Y. Berger and Henry G. Mishkin 2G have been named to the Paine Travelling Fellowships in Music.

The honorary John Harvard award has been given to Reed E. Peggram '35, 2G. Leo N. Gallary '25, 2G, Wyndham M. Southgate '81, assistant in History, and Norman A. Malcolm 2G. have also received grants.

The Edwin R. Bacon Art Scholarship for two years study abroad has been awarded to James M. Carpenter, assistant in Fine Arts.
