CRIMSON AND BLUE TO MEET HERE TOMORROW

Tomorrow is the big day of the year for the Harvard and Yale track teams. Yale will attempt to stave off the Crimson attack which at this time last year proved nearly fatal, when the final score left the Elis only two points ahead.

Coaches and athletes expect the same stiff fight this year. Many winners are returning. Outstanding among the veterans are Gardner Millett of Yale who won the 100 in 9.9s and the 220 in 21.2s. to set a new dual record. Yale also has Frank Curtis who did 49s. in the quarter mile. Hunt Ethridge who did 23 ft., 9 in the broad jump and Ben Holderness who won the mile in 4m., 25s.

Crimson Claims Quarter and Mile

Both Curtis and Holderness have their equals this year, however. Jim Lightbody should better Curtis's mark in the 440, and Captain Alex Northrop of the Crimson is almost certain to lead the mile below the 4:20 mark.

Both teams will utilize strong additions from this year's Sophomore class. Yale has two exceptional hurdlers in Jay Shields and Ted Day. Competing with them will be Harvard's leading hurdler, Mason Fernald, a Sophomore. From the extraordinary Harvard Freshman team of last year come also two powerful shot putters, George Downing and Howard Mendel who should have little difficulty in taking first and second tomorrow.

Freshmen Short on the Odds

Sandwiched in with the Varsity meet are the Freshman events which will be hotly contested. No sure bet are Coach Bill Neufeld's this year, for the Yale Freshmen have the odds. The Crimson should take perhaps more than its share of first places, but it is weak in second and third place supporters. Captain Rolla Campbell is hooting for a record half mild under 1:58, and Bob Partlow will try for similar laurels in the high jump and broad jump.
