EIGHT ERRORS CAUSE YARDLING 5-1 DEFEAT

Tufts Nine in Easy Victory Although Held to Seven Hits as Crimson Gets Six Knocks in Game Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

As the Yardlings made eight errors in the field, the Tufts Freshman baseball team walked to 5-1 victory over the Crimson nine at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon.

Gene Lovett, who pitched the first four innings and Russ Houghton who followed him on the Crimson mound held the Jumbos to seven hits while their teammates were getting six. Four of the enemy hits were for extra bases off the offerings of the Yardling pitchers who were working in place of the absent jack Schwede and Charlie Brackett.
