Halfdan Gregersen, instructor in Romance Languages, has been appointed Dean and associate professor of Romance Languages at Williams College, the Williams College trustees announced yesterday. Dr. Gregersen is now senior tutor of Winthrop House.
A graduate of Leland Stanford University, the newly-appointed dean will succeed Professor Nathan C. Starr.
Another University instructor newly appointed to Williams is Roy Lamson Jr., '29 instructor in English and tutor in the Division of Modern Languages, who has been named assistant professor in English. Dr. Lamson received his M.A. here in 1930 and his Ph. D. in 1936. Last summer he won a Charles Dexter scholarship for summer study in England.
In another important appointment, Max Lerner was elevated to a full professorship in the field of Political Science at Williams.
