Two Juniors Plan Epochal Cycle Marathon To Buffalo

Cary and Ladd Will Finance Attempt With Numerous Bets

Rumor has it that Charles Cary '39 of Senior House is planning to bicycle from Boston to Buffalo after his final examinations in June. There is a possibility that this optimistic lad will be accompanied by his roommate, Charles H. Ladd '39.

Not to be outdone by the exploits of Eugene H. Buder '38, these new cycling enthusiasts have selected an ambitious itinerary. The distance which they plan to traverse is 600 miles--a much longer trip than any Harvard undergraduate has ever attempted.

There was some doubt as to the advisability of travelling on a tandem or on two single bikes, but representatives of the Cambridge Bicycle Exchange convinced the over-zealous students that they would have to confine themselves to a tandem.

At present, the two marathoners are busy collecting bets and getting in some intensive training. Bets, however, are the all important consideration, for, without them, there will be no attempt.
