The Yale-Harvard-Princeton Conference was praised yesterday by Cordell Hull, Secretary of State, in the following statement:
"It has been a matter of sincere gratification to me to watch the development in this country of intercollegiate conferences on public affairs of which the Yale-Harvard-Princeton conference is a conspicuous example. The years of college training are an invaluable formative period for the younger generation in preparing for the duties and responsibilities of constructive citizenship. Whether upon graduation the student finds his life work in the professions or in the public service he will derive in calculable benefits from contacts and serious discussion of national and international problems with his fellows in other institutions of learning, with men of experience and mature judgement in various walks of life and with those actually engaged upon the formulation and execution of public policies. Conferences of this type are a been to democracy".
