VARSITY EIGHT ROWS TO NEAR RECORD, WINNING TRIAL RACE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a well-contested race on the Charles Saturday afternoon, a very promising first Varsity crew defeated the three other Varsity crews in close to record time.

Tom Bolles was reluctant to give out the time of the race--"they'll be gunning for us anyway," he said. But there was a wide, satisfied grin on his face as he admitted that the time was excellent for this early in the season. He did admit that it was "near" the best time made by the crew all last year over the course.
