TRIANGULAR DEBATES TRYOUT HELD TONIGHT

Tryouts for the Harvard-Yale-Princeton triangular debate on April 29 will be held tonight at 7:30 o'clock in the Adams House upper Common Room. Those competing for positions on the team will be the 44 members of the Debating squad, in contrast to other years when they have been open to all.

The subject for debate tonight is "Resolved that it is the moral obligation of every American citizen to fight if called upon by his Government in any war in which the U. S. may become involved."

Edward M. Rowe '27 will select 12 of the contestants tonight, and these men will compete later for the six team positions, the losers becoming alternates. The Jefferson Coolidge fund provides a prize of $100 for the winner of tonight's tryout. Although the prize has been split three ways in previous years, the whole sum can be awarded to one man.

Two teams are to be made up from the winning six, one to face Yale at New Haven in a debate on the same subject as tonight's tryout and the other to meet Princeton here.

The triangular debates will be broadcast over the Colonial network.
