DEBATING COUNCIL ORGANIZES FORCES ON ATHLETIC BASIS

Activities Extended to Cover Houses, And Council Members; Intercollegiate Teams on Radio and Away

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In an effort to inaugurate a program of "debating for all" officers of the Debating Council last night announced a more "formal organization of its activities" along the general lines of Crimson athletics.

The new policy will include arrangements for extension and intercollegiate debates, the former being ten intra-Council meets and the latter divided into verbal battles held at Cambridge, away, and on the radio.

Varsity, Jayvee Formed

At the same time the Council has been divided into two panels, corresponding to the Varsity and Jayvee setup of athletic teams. Groups of ten men will be given a chance to argue twice against some other team in the Council with an audience decision in each case.

Among the intercollegiate debates will be encounters with Vassar and Princeton. The Vassar match, scheduled for March 25, has been planned for discussion of "Resolved: That Congress should pass the equal-rights amendment for women" with the collegiennes supporting the feminist position.

Radio debates are scheduled for four consecutive Wednesday afternoons at 2:30 o'clock during the month of March over station WAAB. An Armistice Day argument with Yale on America's neutrality policy, and a stand against Melbourne on December 15 over a coast-to-cast MBS network has been planned.

The element of intra-Council competition stressed by extension debates will be enlarged in the fall when the program may be linked to the House Plan.
