Langdon P. Marvin, Jr. '41, of Holworthy and New York City, will head the Freshman Smoker Committee, in charge of the Yardlings' annual get-together, it was announced last night.
Marvin was chairman of the Union Committee, is a member of Brooks House and the Freshman Debating team, and played on the squash team.
Other members of the committee, picked by the class officers, are: George G. Haydock of Massachusetts, Football team; Robert A. James of Wigglesworth, Football and Basketball teams; Donald A. Brew of Matthews; Joseph P. Lyford of Holworthy, CRIMSON news board and Basketball team; William H. Hinton of Thayer, Ski team; Logan Bullitt of Stoughton, chairman of the H.S.U. Practical Politics Committee; and Bernard J. McMahon of Thayer, Basketball team.
An additional two members will be appointed by Marvin before the group holds an organization meeting on Friday. John F. Kennedy '40, chairman of last year's Smoker Committee, will discuss plans with members at a later date.
