Those who attend a lecture by Charles H. Smiley of Brown University, at an "open night" on Thursday at the Observatory will have the opportunity to look through the giant telesope if the sky is clear, authorities revealed today.

"The Story of the Lick Observatory" will be given by Smiley at 8 o'clock and is open to the public without charge. Tickets must be secured in advance.
