English Ruggers Favorites Today In Crimson Clash

Facing its first competition this season, the Harvard Rugby Club will this afternoon engage a powerful Cambridge University fifteen at Soldiers Field at 2:45 o'clock.

Following a decisive 40-0 victory over the Elis, the English team necessarily reigns favorites in today's clash. But the Crimson boasts their best squad in several years and expects to make the going tough for the invaders.

Elusive, fast, but powerful, the Cambridge aggregation was very impressive in their win over Yale and apparently expects to repeat their 40-19 trouncing of the Crimson, which they made in their last encounter in 1934.

Gridders Strengthen Crimson

In opposition to the Cambridge fifteen, which averages 180 pounds in the back-field and 200 on the front line, the Crimson will have such football notables as Princeton's Pepper Constable Bill Watt, Mike Cohen, Joe Kennedy, Pete Knapp, and George Downes, along with veteran ruggers Captain Ned Whitney and Henry Miller.

The game will be played under International rules which require 45 minute periods with no substitution. As a result, spectators are expected to see not only a rough but probably the best exhibition of rugby ever witnessed at Boston.
