LACROSSE TEAM FACES SCHEDULE WITH CHEER

Large Turnout and Return of Veterans Give Coach Stahley Confidence for Stiff Season

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Cheered by a large early turnout of about forty men in Briggs Cage, Coach Skip Stahley of the Varsity lacrosse team is looking forward to the oncoming season with confidence. In addition to the candidates for the Varsity, several likely looking Freshmen have been working out.

Led by Captain Tommy Campion, the stickmen are boasting an almost veteran squad from last year's strong team. although the team will severely miss last year's captain Johnny Wither-spoon, who won All-American rating for two successive years, there are several lettermen and Sophomores who may be able to fill the gap left by his graduation.

Evening Practice

As the squad has been hampered by lack of space and time for practice, no line-ups have been formed as yet. However, Stahley has announced that practice will be held in the evenings for a while in order that the team can get more time in Briggs cage.

when snow disappears the stickmen will be the first spring squad to get outside as they must capitalize every minute in order to be prepared for three stiff games during the spring vacation. This year they will take on Penn, Navy, and Maryland down in the heart of the lacrosse country. The schedule of the trip is as follows: April 5, Penn; April 7, Maryland; April 9, Navy.
