Deacons Win Crucial Meet; Funsters Outbox Commuters

With Bob Snyder and A1 Waldron leading the way, the Deacons swam their way to he House championship yesterday afternoon by virtue of a 33 to 28 win over Eliot.

In a triangular meet that dwindled into a dual encounter when Winthrop defaulted, the Rabbits hung up their first pool victory in two years as they swamped the Funsters 44 to 18, taking all firsts except in the dive and 200 events. Lowell downed Dudley in the afternoon's other meet.

In the boxing room on the third floor of the Indoor Athletic Building, Dunster pounded out a 3 to 2 win over the Dudley pugilists in a quarter-final round, while the Deacons fought their way into the finals slated for next week by edging the Puritans 3 to 2.

Quintets from al the Houses will clash tomorrow in the last day of House basketball, with the Goldcoasters very slightly favored to cop the championship, despite their defeat at the hands of the Elephants Wednesday.
