OATH REPEAL PASSES SENATE BY NARROW 16 TO 15 MARGIN

Proponents of the Teachers' Oath repeal moved one step nearer victory yesterday as the Massachusetts senate, with four members not voting, ordered its third reading by the slim margin 16 to 15.

While elated sponsors of the measure refused to comment, political observers at the State House were convinced that the upper house would send the bill to the House if Representatives today without further debate.

Joseph A. Langone, Boston undertaker, who last year cast the crucial ballot in the senate's 21-19 decision to send the bill to Governor Hurley, again voted for the abolishment of the Oath law, An Attempt to suspend the rules and prevent the third reading failed.
