How to get a date for a dance was demonstrated on a mass-production scale yesterday when two unacquainted Yardlings decided to go through the telephone book in search of prospective ladies to take to the Freshman dance.
Starting with the "A's", they called up every house, inquiring for "Miss" Abbott, "Miss" Abernathey," "Miss" Apley. If a "Miss" was there, she was subjected to a cross-questioning on her age and whether she would attend the Freshman dance.
Startling was the success of the project, for 150 misses answered the phone, and none hung up. All asked, that the potential escorts call to be reconnoitered. The Freshmen will visit the first two on the list this morning.
