Varsity, 1941 Fencers Beat Brown Away 16 1/2-10 1/2, 22-5

Against a mediocre Brown team, the Varsity fencers won 16 1/2 to 10 1/2 Saturday at Providence, while the Freshman swordsmen scored a brilliant 22-5 victory over the Brown Cubs.

The Crimson Varsity, weakened by the loss of Captain Dan Skinner, Scott Long, and Bob Miller, was not impressive against a team which was supposedly one of the easiest squads in its schedule.

Only one Crimson fencer, Cranston Jones in the foils, took all three of his matches. In the epee, Jerry Dodge won two matches and tied the other.
