Malletmen Drub West Point In Surprise Victory, 11-8

Led by Skiddy von Stade, who scored five of the Crimsons eleven goals, the Varsity polo team turned back Army at West Point Saturday 11 to 8 for the first defeat that the Cadets have suffered on their home field in four years.

Harvard tallied first when a pony kicked the willow through the posts, and two more goals by Gay Dillingham in the third chukker kept the Crimson out in front at half time. Bob Lowis at number one scored three times to account for the remaining Harvard goals.

By virtue of its upset of undefeated Army, the Crimson trio now looms as a leading contender for the intercollegiate crown, as well as being rated one of the country's outstanding teams. The tournament takes place next month.
