Dean's Office Clamps Down On Radio Lexicon Contest

Wellesley Girls, Lampoon Boys Forced To Give Up Plans

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans for the proposed radio Lexicon contest between a group of Wellesley girls and the Lampoon, undergraduate humorous publication, were thwarted yesterday when Funnymen's president William L. Calfee '39 received a missive from the Dean's Office to the effect that the Office would look with ill favor on the broadcast.

The Columbia radio network, through station WEEL, was apparently all set to air the battle on February 17, but apparently the affair is no go.

Reached last night, Calfee admitted disappointment. Harriet Harrison, leader of the Wellesley contingent, was not able to be contacted, but it is understood that she will he broken-hearted.
