WELLESLEY MADRIGAL GROUP JOINS LEVERETT IN CONCERT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Last night the Leverett Glee Club, joined for the first time by the Wellesley College Madrigal Group, sang to an audience of over 200 faculty members and students in the annual Leverett House Christmas concert.

Each group sang three numbers, and the combined chorus sang three more. Of especial interest was the rarely heard Mozart canon, "Bed Is Cozy" performed by the small chorus of the Leverett Glee Club, and the first American performance of the cantata "In Windsor Forest" taken from the opera "Sir John in Love" by Vaughn Williams. This was sung by the combined voices.

George Phillips directed the Leverett Glee Club, Charles Berger the canon group, and Katherine Hack led the Wellesley girls. Martin Kalman-off accompanied the groups. The soloists were Ann Burnham and Charles Berger.
