HENRY FUND PROVIDES ANNUAL AID FOR SEVER

Founded "in the earnest hope and desire of cementing the bonds of friendship between the British Empire and the United States," the Charles and Julia Henry Fund will provide seven one-year fellowships at Oxford and Cambridge to American students next year. The deadline for applications is Thursday, December 15.

Four members of the class of '38 last spring were awarded the L500 grants for study at Oxford or Cambridge Universities: Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. John L. Dampeer, Albert Damon, and John A. Moore.

Choice of study is virtually unrestricted, and preference is given to applicants in their last year of undergraduate work or who have just started on graduate work.

The American Committee of Management is composed of President Conant, Dean Hanford, Jerome D. Greene '34, Secretary to the Corporation representing Harvard; and President Charles Seymour, Provost Edgar S. Furniss and Carl A. Lohman, representing Yale.

This fund is similar to the Rhodes scholarships of national scope.
