HARVARD EMPLOYEES' UNION STAGES GEORGIAN WALKOUT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Members of Kitchen Workers' A. F. of L. Union 186 walked out of the Georgian cafeteria Wednesday night at 7 o'clock. Local 186 has had considerable success in the University, having organized 80 per cent of the kitchen help, but failed in an attempt to get a closed shop for the A.F. of L. last May.

R. F. Moore, president of the Union, was on the picket line, despite the rain. According to him dishwashers had been getting $9 a week for up to 12 hours daily work. The Union wants an eight hour day and "as much pay as we can get." Moore laughingly denied that there would be a sympathy strike of Harvard cooks and dishwashers, and appeared optimistic of victory, citing the past success of the Union.
