Prospects for the Freshman squash team are only fair this year according to coach Barnaby and assistant-coach Dorson, with only one outstanding candidate, Harold Baker.
The rest, including Doug Cochrane, Bill Frothingham, Phil Jastram and Orme Wilson are notably green, but because they have good tennis backgrounds Barnaby expects a good season despite this slow beginning.
Concerning the one ray of light, Baker, Dorson quipped, "He is head and shoulders above the rest." Baker is 6 feet 7 inches in height.
Dorson admitted that prospects have been better in former years, but explains this fact by the rise in popularity of squash in other colleges. In past years it was easy for Harvard, the main exponent of squash, to dominate the scene, but now because of squash's greater popularity the good players are being more evenly distributed among the colleges.
