Harlow Adds Hour After Dark As Elis Hold Long Scrimmage

NEW HAVEN, Nov. 16--In a strictly private practice session this afternoon Ducky Pond put his Yale squad through another lengthy scrimmage. The first team lined up on the defensive against the red-shirted seconds for about an hour of contact work. Then the ball was switched and the first team ran the Harvard plays against the seconds.

In addition to the Crimson shirts, the "red-bellies" wore the Harvard starters' numbers. But today the "Harvards" were working with more than usual aplomb. Al Wilson, in the second backfield, was running wild and Fred Burr looked particularly potent as the Harvard hurler.

Humphrey Out

Bud Humphrey was out today with a slight cold, and Bill Moody was still nursing his bruises.

Both will be there Saturday afternoon. Buck Dyes and Ray Anderson scrimmaged for the first time this week. Pond has fairly definitely decided on his starting lineup. Dyess and Moody are the ends, Captain Platt and Bob Brooks the tackles, Dern and Burnam the guards, Stack the center, and Anderson, Collins, Johnny Miller and Bill Snavely the backs.

This will leave a powerful set of reserves to fill in. The second line-up is: Huffard, Boxton, Zilly and Seabury ends, John and Taylor tackles, Hemingway and Charlie Miller guards, Starbuck and Willard centers, and Humphrey, Wilson, Burr and Whiteman backs. The whole squad is in good fighting form, and they seem to have the old do-or-die attitude to the last degree.

The Yale A.A. expects a crowd of some 60,000 to see the renewal of this ancient rivalry Saturday. There are still plenty of good tickets left, however, contrary to the common opinion. This game will start at 1:45 Saturday, instead of the usual 2:00.
