Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Richard H. Sullivan '39, of Marietta, Ohio, president of the Student Council will receive the Francis H. Burr Scholarship it was learned today.
The major award was established in memory of Francis H. Burr '09, for presentation each year to a senior who "combines as nearly as possible Burr's remarkable qualities of character, leadership, scholarship, and athletic ability."
One of the chief Undergraduate honors, the scholarship is given each year upon the joint recommendation of William J. Bingham, chairman of the Athletic Committee, and Dean Hanford.
National Scholarship
Sullivan is a National Scholar, member of the Varsity basketball squad, business manager of the 1939 Senior Album, and recently elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1935.
A National Scholarship holder through his College course, the recipient is on the Dean's list, concentrates in English. He is also chairman of the Lowell House Committee, a member of the executive board of the Student Union, and was associated with the Red Book editorial board.
Struck 1938 Holder
The scholarship was awarded last year to Vernon H. Struck '38, of Centralia, Illinois, who was an honor student, a member of the football team and the Student Council, and-captain of the basketball team.
Among other recipients in recent years have been the late Richard G. Ames '34, of Wayland, president of the Student Council and captain of the wrestling team; Chester K. Litman '35, of Brookline, a member of the football and track teams and high ranking student; Robert C. Hall '36, of Brookline, a member of the track team, the Student Council, the CRIMSON and Phi Beta Kappa; and Charles W. Kessler '37, Salem, who was an honor student, a member of the Varsity football team, and the Student Council.
