Frederick C. Packard Jr., assistant professor of Public Speaking and Raphael Demos, professor of Philosophy will give talks on poetry this afternoon and evening at the Poetry Room of Widener Library.
Recordings of poetry readings by T.S. Eliot, Robert Frost, Archibald MacLeish, and others will be played by Dr. Packard during a lecture on "The Uses of the Phonograph in the Enjoyment of Poetry," open to the public without charge, at 4 o'clock.
Dr. Demos will speak on "Plato's Theory of Poetry" at 7:30 o'clock in a lecture open to students of the University.
