Rally Changed to Briggs Cage; Tiger Team Takes to Stadium

The Princeton Varsity football team will arrive at the Back Bay Station at 2:45 o'clock this afternoon and journey by bus to Soldiers Field, where they will work out in the Stadium from 3:30 until 5 o'clock.

That fact is not very startling, but the time is important, for it has occasioned the shifting of Harvard's first football rally in 13 years from outside the Dillon Field House to inside Briggs Cage. It was generally felt that the Tigers will have to take a real taming tomorrow and hence should not have to take a moral taming today.

In any case, Princeton will undoubtedly hear a little of the emittings of the Cage, for a gala program has been drawn up. The affair will start immediately upon the conclusion of the J. V. Tiger game at 4:30 o'clock. Members of the football team, cheerleaders, and a sizeable proportion of the band will be on the balcony, so that "waking up the echoes" should not be too difficult.

Wood, Ticknor Send Wires

Master of ceremonies will be Richard C. Floyd '10, president of the Varsity Club. Speakers in order, although interspersed with cheers and songs, will be William J. Bingham '16, Athletic Director, Captain Bob Green and Coach Dick Harlow.

Harvard's two recent all-Americans, quarterback W. Barry Wood '32 and center Benjamin H. Ticknor '31 were invited to address the gathering. Unable to appear in person, however, both the legendary scholar-athlete and the all-time greatest center have sent telegrams which will be read to the meeting.

Passing Features Practice

Yesterday the Varsity went through what was believed by everybody from Dick Harlow on down to be the best practice session in weeks. With everybody hale and hearty, there seemed to be a new second-half-of-the-season confidence. The forward passing drill was the highlight. Both Frank Foley and Austie Harding floated spirals consistently into the arms of Bob Green, Don Daughters, Torby Macdonald, and Joe Gardelia.

Lade in the afternoon, with darkness setting in, and all the glamor of the half-light and the white ball spurring them on, the top teams ran through a really jazzed-up signal drill. Joe gardella continued to alternate from wingback to bucking back. When he worked as wingback, big Ben Smith was the bucker. On the "B" eleven Ray Jones, elevated since Bob Burnett's ankle injury, took over the wingback post.

J.V.'s-Tigers Today

The Bengal Junior Varsity aggregation will arrive in Cambridge sometime this morning for their clash with the Harvard J.V.'s at 2 o'clock. Two Varsity "red-shirts," end Gene Loveit and center Lewis Harder, have been sent down to bolster the J.V.'s for the clash.

The Crimson J.V.'s boast one triumph, while their opponents last week took it on the chin from Navy, 250. Last year the Bengalis and Harvardisus fought to clash was the fact that Princeton used almost exclusively Harvard Varsity plays, which they had learned through scouts in order to run against their own top notchers.
