ALLSTON RESIDENTS OPPOSE UNIVERSITY TAX EXEMPTIONS

Resentment at the University's tax free property appears to have spread across the river to Allston where the Business school is located, according to this week's edition of the Allston Brighton Citizen.

The newspaper in a column called "What Do You Think?" asked a cross-section of its citizenry whether they thought Harvard should pay taxes on its property in their community.

The five or six representative answers which were printed all said that the University was able to afford taxes and should pay them. The "Citizen" is seeking an answer from this side of the river which will express Harvard's point of view.
