The University Band and six cheer-leaders will lead an enthusiastic and excited crowd gathered in Soldiers Field this afternoon cheering Coach Dick Harlow's strong 1938 gridiron edition as it meets the powerful Brown Bears in the opening game on the schedule.

Raising the curtain on the 1938 football season, the Band will meet at Memorial Hall at 12 o'clock and will march through the Square down to Briggs practice cage.

Shortly before the opening whistle, the Band will greet the visitors and their supporters by spelling out the word "Welcome" in large letters in the center of the field. Crimson adherents will see the words "Beat 'Em" and "Good Luck Dick" unfold before them on their side of the stands.
