"In recognition of his world wide services in the development of public health," Frederick F. Russell, professor of Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology, has been awarded the Buchanan medal by the Royal Society of London.
Russell, who resigned from the army medical corps in 1920, after 2 years of distinguished service, has recently been appointed lecturer on preventive medicine, hygiene and epidemiology at the Medical School and the School of Public Health. He is also a member of the board of managers of Memorial Hospital in New York.
