Edward K. Rand, Pope Professor of Latin has been elected Corresponding Member of the Academic des Inscriptions at Belles Letires of the Institute de France, a leading French academic society, it was announced today.
The Academic, which was founded by Colbert, minister of King Louis XIV, limits corresponding membership to 40. Professor Michael 1. Rostovtzeff of Yale University, is at present the only other member of the Academic.
