For the first time in tow years Coach Fred Mitchell is holding fall practice for his Crimson nine. The drill began yesterday afternoon on the Varsity diamond at Soldiers Field and will continue until cold weather arrives permanently.

Included in the 17 men who reported for the first session were three lettermen, Captain Ulysses Lupien, Bob Gannett, and Slim Curtis. Other veteran are expected noon.

Bob Fulton, last year's Yardling captain and serious contender for the catcher's berth, headed the Freshmen, while the remainder of the group were Jayvees.

Batting practice, which occupied the entire drill yesterday, will be stressed, along with infield practice throughout the fall. Mitchell also intends to schedule several games.
