Oldest college symphony orchestra in this nation, the Pierian Sodality of 1808 is now announcing its annual fall tryouts open to all members of the University who can play on any stringed, woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument.
Tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday Malcolm H. Holmes '28, conductor, will be in Paine Hall, in the Music Building, to welcome all comers from 7:15 to 9 o'clock.
The management will also be happy at that time to see all students interested in applying for the positions of assistant manager or librarian, which are recommended to non-virtuosi as excellent ways of securing membership in the orchestra. While the band does not regularly use a pianist any men interested in doing such work should consult Holmes.
