Setting what is believed to be a new Olympic and world's record, Louis R. Chauvenot, of Esmont, Virginia, won a year's subscription to the CRIMSON by becoming the first Freshman to hand in his study card, it was revealed last night.
Chauvenet, who prepared at Belnont Hill and lives in Matthews Hall, scored at 3:20 o'clock, outdistancing his nearest competitor by 45 minutes. How he succeeded in reaching his advisor for the all-important signature was not ascertained.
