From 10 to 5 o'clock the Class of 1941 will be registering as Harvard citizens, will be writing at a long table in a musty great room, will be passing out again into the sunshine, out of Memorial Hall.

Memorial Hall is where all Harvard undergraduates enroll and where most of them return in time to take examinations. On these occasions alone does the College regularly use the nave of this imposing testimony to the Crimson soldiers of the Civil War.

Many have called it an eyesore on the surroundings. Yet to 1941 as to long lines of Classes before it, Memorial Hall will become most indelibly printed in the memory, the one piece of Cambridge's conglomerate skyline which will always and unfailingly evoke the unconscious response, "Harvard".
