Providing the most comprehensive training in stagecraft since the "47 Workshop," a school of drama for the summer school was announced yesterday by University officials, under the instruction of Leonard M. Barker and John M. Brown of New York and Frederick C. Packard, Jr. '20, assistant professor of Public Speaking.
Packard will conduct a course in stage acting, using selected scenes from Shakespeare and modern dramatics. The classes, which meet two hours every week day will include instruction in oral expression and dramatic action.
Details of staging and producing these dramas will be taught by Barker, using the Hasty Pudding Club theatre for practicing the building and handling of scenery.
