President James Rowland Angell of Yale was guest of honor last night at a dinner party tendered by the Harvard Club of Boston, with President Conant acting as toastmaster and George P. Gardiner, Jr. '10 the presiding officer.
Speakers besides President Angell included the Rt. Rev. Henry K. Sherrill, Bishop of Massachusetts, and Frank W. Taussig '79, President of the Harvard Alumni Association. In accordance with club custom, their speeches were not released to the press.
Among the noted guests were Colonel Apted and Dean Hanford, who disregarded the threat of yet another student riot, this time a reported Harvard-Tech demonstration, to attend the affair.
