UNIVERSITY PRESS SHUTDOWN RUMOURED ABOUT YESTERDAY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Brulted about Harvard yesterday was the rumour that the University Press had served its purpose and would not be reopened next year. No reasons of any sort were forthcoming however for the reported shutdown.

Quick and emphatic in his denial that there was basis for such a rumour, Dimas Malone, Chairman of the Press, termed it the "silliest thing he had ever heard of".

Chief reasons for scouting the theory were that the Press has already made its plans for next year, has just received a grant of money, and that a new group of syndics, or governing board, has been recently elected.
