Two goals by Bill Doughty in the first half enabled the Freshman stickmen to edge M.I.T. by a score of 2-1. The first Yardling score came in the first thirty seconds of play. Near the end of the period M.I.T. evened the count.
Although the Crimson dictated the play throughout they were unable to score again until late in the second period. The loss of scoring power was undoubtedly due to the absence of three regular attackmen from injury.
After the game James A. Doughty of Ipswich was elected captain. He prepared at Exeter and gained his lacrosse experience there. This year he has been outstanding both on the attack and on the defense for the Yardlings.
