All University fencers will have a chance to compete on an even footing in the University Championship beginning today and lasting through Friday.

Freshmen will cross swords with graduate students in an open tournament to be run on elimination lines.

Foil matches take place today at 2 o'clock, with the events in the epee and the saber tomorrow and Friday at the same time. This year's tournament differs from these of other years in that the round-robin method has been replaced by elimination matches.

John G. Hurd 3L, former Intercollegiate champion is considered a likely winner, but he will probably meet strong opposition from, among others, Edward S. Skinner '38, Varsity captain next year.
