Charles "Butch" Burns, of Richmond Hills, L. L. who is one of the strong men of the School of Design and Landscape Architecture and knows it, yesterday decided he could race against a relay team of four friends for two miles and beat them. A keg of beer was the stake.

The boys gathered on the half-mile pony track anext the Charles, and John Fugard of Evanston, Illinois, stepped out with "Butch". If was nip and tuck for the first half-mile, but Fritz Iwasko, the flash from Detroit, began to widen a considerable gap.

Still smiling as he swing into the last lap, "Butch" was a full half-length behind John Scruggs of Maysville, Ky. But he came in gamely in a bit under 15 minutes, panting: "I guess you boys get it."
