RUGBY TEAM IN CHALLENGE TO D'OYLY CARTE PLAYERS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a supreme effort to make the distinguished visitors to Boston feel that its hospitality warrants the title "hub of the universe", the Rugby team has formally invited the D'Oyly Carte players to a challenge match in Rugby.

Hayden Channing, Jr. '37 sent the following telegram to the Gilbert and Sullivan artists last night: "Fearing that you may be homesick challenge you to a match of Rugby. Your choice of time. Willing to play Cricket. Refreshments, referee, and hospital service supplied."

The stroke is a bold one, for the strategic agility of Martyn Green is nothing to laugh about on the Rugby field.
