Crack junior free-styler Charlie Hutter of the Varsity Swimming team is the outstanding winter sports athlete of the year, according to selection made by the Harvard Athletic Association.

Other athletes who were cited as competitors of the outstanding Olympic ace included Lev White for the basketball team, Peter Olney, boxing leader, Fencing's captain Ed Miller, Squash's captain Dick Dorson and captain Bill Schmidt in track.

Reasons for Hutter's selection were given as his remarkable performances, his competitive spirit and his co-operation with his teammates.

Another swimmer, Rus Greenhood, Coach Ulen's ace sophomore diver, gained the award as the best of the scholar athletes, according to the figures compiled by F. Stanton Deland, Jr., assistant to the Director of Athletics.
