COLLEGE OF PACIFIC DEBATES WITH COUNCIL

Debating Council Upholds Negative on Congressional Regulation in No- Decision Meet

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rationally denying the advisability of minimum wage and maximum hour legislation, the Debating Council met a team from the College of the Pacific yesterday afternoon, in a non-decision debate broadcast from station WAAB. Boston.

The speakers from the Stockton, California college spoke for the affirmative on the subject: "Resolved. That Congress should be empowered to regulate minimum wages and maximum hours for industry." Contrary to general belief, the team from the sun kissed state were debating in Boston, and not from California.

For the Debating Council, Lawrence F. Ebb '39 and William W. Hancock '38 spoke, while Erwin Farley and Louis Sandine argued for the far-western college. There were no rebuttals in the debate, which lasted one hour.
